Creek Street Medical Practice does not have the capacity to have a Registrar in 2021


The Creek Street Medical Practice has been training GPRs for 17 years- we are still in touch with many past registrars. The supervisors are committed to a high quality training experience and to that end allocate three hours a day tute time per week, uninterrupted, in semester 1, 1.5 hours per week in semester 2, and 1.5 hours per fortnight in semester 3.

Practice Building Details  

The practice operates from an miner’s cottage that has been converted and extended and provides a very pleasant working environment. There are four consulting rooms, treatment room, waiting room, staff room and small garden. The center of Bendigo is a pleasant ten minute walk along the creek.

There are 3 permanent medical practitioners in the practice ( 2 females  and 1 male). We have 2 practice nurse’s, Division 1 and one is nurse immuniser qualified. Our practice believes in providing holistic care to all age groups. The doctors all perform minor surgical procedures.
There is a practice library, broadband internet and access to an excellent library at the Bendigo hospital.

Creek Street Medical Practice has been a fully accredited general practice since 1999 and has been training GPRs for 17 years. Formal teaching time is set aside on Wednesdays for three hours with Andy cope, Chris Sasse or Brenda Greenall.

Clinical Training Details 

Andy Cope has been a supervisor for 20 years, Chris Sasse has been a supervisor for 17 years and Brenda Greenall has been a supervisor for 10 years.

Lynda, our experienced practice nurse, is always available to lend a hand. Fiona is our part-time Practice nurse, she covers Lynda’s leave and works in the clinic doing Health Assessments for our patients. Our receptionists Karen, Julie, Melissa and Shay, they have a very good rapport with our patients. Leonie, our practice manager has a wealth of helpful knowledge! Our local PHN is actively involved with GPRs and provides many CPD activities throughout the year.

Bendigo Hospital and the Anne Caudle Centre form the Bendigo Health Care Group and have a fully staffed casualty with a comprehensive range of specialists including geriatric and rehabilitation services.

St John of God is the local private hospital.

Registrar Terms & Conditions / Expected On Call Rostering 

Full time post. On call is shared equitably within the practice. On call week nights generally just one night per week ( may be more during leave periods for other doctors ), are not onerous and there are seldom any calls. Saturday morning surgery is available by the rostered weekend Doctor.

Working conditions and remuneration are as per National Terms and Conditions.
